DO I NEED A TRANSLATOR FOR THE TITLE DEED PROCEDURE?
Because the paperwork is only prepared in Turkish, if one of the parties is a foreigner, a sworn translator must be present at the title deed office to explain the terms of the conveyance to the party. The title deed is printed by the officers and provided to the buyer when the seller and buyer sign the title deed conveyance agreement.

I HAVE LOST MY ORIGINAL TITLE DEED; CAN IT BE REPRINTED FOR ME?

CAN I SELL MY HOUSE WİTHOUT TITLE DEEDS?
No. You must have the original deeds to sell your property. With only a photocopy of the Certificate of Title, you cannot complete the transfer of title of a property via sale.
HOW CAN YOU TELL IF TITLE DEEDS ARE FAKE?
Tapu is a fully insured and legal document. It includes the owner's name, an image, and extensive information on the property. The Tapu must be sealed with a stamp in the center of the document at the bottom. The Tapu and Cadastro General Directorate has provided this official document as well as an archive. This directorate registers and archives the Tapu conveyance. You can always get a piece of advice from a lawyer to make sure about the safety of the purchase.
HOW DO I GET MY DEEDS WHEN THE MORTGAGE IS PAID OFF?
A hypothec is an obligation, right, or security provided to a creditor by contract or by operation of law over the debtor's property without the creditor gaining possession or title. When buyers owe money to sellers in Turkey, they use a Hypothec on the title deed. When the debt is paid, it is removed from the title document. The process of removing a hypothec from a title deed is straightforward. The owner applies for the hypothec removal in the morning, and signatures are taken shortly, just as the title deed transfer process.
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE NO TITLE DEEDS?
If the title deeds have been lost or destroyed, you can apply for the registration office.
HOW DO I CHANGE MY NAME ON TAPU?
Changing the name on the tapu is possible as a transfer process. A tapu transfer process is possible after you've signed all of the sales and transfer agreements. The procedure for transferring a title deed is as followed:
• Preparation of all of the documentation required for the property transfer registration is done.
• Information is forwarded to the Title Deeds Registry Office.
• The buyer pays the entire price on the day of transfer, and the office receives the title of the property.
IS THERE ANYTHING MORE I NEED TO KNOW?
Foreign investors who spend $250K or more on a property in Turkey are entitled to a Turkish passport within three months. When a real estate buyer applies for Turkish citizenship through an investment program, an amount is placed on the title deed that bans the sale of a Turkish title deed for at least three years.
